Corey Higley (2010 – 2011)

It is an honor to be chosen to remember Jan Fenske through my work and education at MSU. Her untiring passion, dedication, strength, and courage are qualities aspired by all management professionals, men and women alike. I hope to contribute to her unquestionable impact and lasting legacy as I complete this fellowship and venture forward on the trail she blazed for women like myself in the next generation of management professionals.

I hope my fellowship experience will facilitate personal growth and develop advanced leadership skills in communication, information integration, education, policy coordination and advocacy. The unique, first-hand experience provides an entirely new perspective on management that cannot be taught in a classroom. Passion is a powerful motivator. I think it is important to do what you love and love what you do. Don’t be afraid to do something different. Jan wasn’t.
